I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Melissa. She far exceeded our expectations.
She was involved in the contractor budgeting process prior to signing the contract. The budgeting process up front was very detailed and she had the builder change allowances (lighting, cabinets, appliances, etc.) based on the level of finishes that we desired. She is incredibly organized and detail-oriented and that was much appreciated. She was a huge asset to the builder, his subs, and the architects. They commented multiple times that having her to work with helped keep them on schedule and made their lives so much easier. It also took a lot of burden off of us because in most cases, they were able to work directly with her for answers and did not need us at all! She was definitely respectful of our time and extremely flexible. We really let her loose to be creative and pull together an integrated vision from the exterior to the interior and the results speak for themselves. Every detail works together. The comments we get when people tour the house are amazing – even many of the subcontractors have said this is their favorite house on which they’ve ever worked. Some who worked on the project in it’s earlier phases, come back by and ask to walk through the house.
Clearly, her professional skills are amazing but on a more personal note, Melissa is just a really nice person. She came to feel like part of the family and was so easy to have in and out of the house they we’ve missed her since the project wrapped! I guess that means we have to figure out some more new projects. 🙂 The contractor, landscaper, architect and Melissa have all gotten together to do a big photo shoot of the house this Tuesday and are all coming to dinner that night and looking forward to hanging out together. Hopefully that gives you a sense of how well the team functioned.
